QMC employees and pensioners deprived of salaries, pensions

QUETTA:Hazrat Khan, President, Metropolitan Corporation Tanzeemi Ittehad (MCTI), Quetta, has said that owing to the anti-labour policy of Finance Department, Government of Balochistan, serving employees and pensioners of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation have been deprived of their salaries and pensions.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, he said that employees of QMC have been on strike for the last 10 days, but the authorities have turned a deaf ear to get the genuine demands of the employees of QMC entertained. He added that arrears of retired and deceased employees could not be paid owing to the objections raised by Finance Department and LCGC committee, adding that despite lapse of considerable period of time, the government has failed to finalize infrastructure for Quetta Metropolitan Corporation.

Demanding for regularization of the services of contract employees, fixing Rs.20000 per month for daily wages employees of QMC, granting up-gradation to the employees of different categories serving in QMC and promoting employees of QMC on the basis of acquiring higher qualification, he called on authorities to immediately finalize service structure of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation.

Hazrat Khan demanded of the Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Abdul Quddus, Chief Secretary Balochistan, Mathar Niaz Rana and other concerned authorities to address all the genuine demands of Metropolitan Corporation Tanzeemi Ittehad, Quetta forthwith, adding that if the authorities did not accede to the genuine demands of MCTI, Quetta, all the employees of Local Government Department would stage a protest sit-in along with their children on main highways of different districts of Balochistan, including Quetta.
