Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Champions to Receive Rs 2.5 Million Reward

The victorious Karachi Blues cricket team will be awarded a prize of Rs 2.5 million for winning the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, announced Nadeem Omar, President of the Regional Cricket Association Karachi, during a meeting with the squad.

According to Regional Cricket Association Karachi report, in his address, Mr. Omar congratulated the players and support staff, stating their brilliant performance in the country”s premier tournament brought joy to the city”s residents and proved the abundance of local talent.

He specifically commended the efforts of head coach Iqbal Imam, noting that under his guidance, Karachi-based teams have secured the prestigious trophy twice in the last two and a half years, describing it as a “unique achievement.”

Looking toward future development, Mr. Omar revealed plans to establish a CB Regional Cricket Association Karachi Academy for under-17 players at the Naya AzimAbad ground. He confirmed that PCB coaches would be enlisted to address any shortcomings and refine the skills of the young athletes.

A grand ceremony to honor the team”s accomplishment will be held soon at a local hotel, Mr. Omar added. It was also noted that in addition to the team prize, players who delivered standout performances in individual matches received cash awards of Rs. 25,000 each from the association president.

Head coach Iqbal Imam attributed the team”s success to the unwavering support from Nadeem Omar. He highlighted the emergence of several promising young players from the tournament, including Saad Baig, Haroon Arshad, Saqib Khan, Muhammad Umar, and Abdullah Fazal, predicting they will bring further accolades to the city and the nation.

Team manager Syed Muhammad Ahmed Naqvi expressed gratitude for the victory, calling it a testament to the collective hard work of the players and staff. He praised Mr. Omar”s leadership, stating it was the first time in the region’s history that a president has shown such comprehensive respect for both players and coaches.

Hassan Omar, Azam Khan, and Faizan Najeeb were also present at the occasion.
