KARACHI: It is not possible to deny the services of country’s first prime minister Liaquat Ali Khan rendered for the establishment of Pakistan and its development. If he had not been martyred or his real killers had been given an exemplary punishment, then dictatorship would not have come into the country and democracy would have continued to flourish.

This was stated by PPP Sindh MPA Ms Sharmila Farooqui while addressing a ceremony organized by the Committee of Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of Pakistan at Flagstaff House in Karachi on Thursday.

Sharmila said: “Today is a memorable day for all of us as on this day, Quaid-e-Millat Liaquat Ali Khan had introduced the national flag of Pakistan in the then Legislative Assembly of the country.” She said that our country Pakistan was achieved after the tireless efforts and countless sacrifices of our forefathers, so we should value it.

In the ceremony, children from various schools recited the national anthem, while Sharmila cut the cake and hoisted the country’s flag to mark the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the country. The event was attended by media persons, representatives of various organizations and a large number of citizens.
