Lahore, April 07, 2023 (PPI-OT): A special meeting was held in the Chief Minister’s Office under the chairmanship of caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi in which the caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi approved the “Ramadan Mubarak Sports Series”.
Mohsin Naqvi while addressing the meeting said that they want to ignite their talents by attracting the youth towards sports. More and more youth will be provided opportunities to participate in sports competitions.
The promotion of sports is on the top of the priorities of the Punjab government in “Ramadan Mubarak Sports Series” there will be football, table tennis, badminton, hockey, kabaddi and cricket competitions. During the briefing, it was informed that teams from 9 divisions across Punjab will participate in the competitions. Sports competitions will be sponsored, government funds will not be spent.
Prizes of 85 lakh rupees will be given to the winning teams. Cricket, hockey, kabaddi, badminton, A cash prize of 2.2 lakh rupees will be given to the winner of football and table tennis. Hockey matches will be held every night from 7th to 11th April at Mini Hockey Stadium Football and Kabaddi competitions will be held at Punjab Football Stadium, table tennis competitions will be held at Sports Gymnasium.
Badminton matches will be held at International Gymnasium Hall and cricket matches will be held at LCCA Cricket Ground. 903 players and officials of 57 teams will participate in the Ramadan sports competitions.
