Agahi organization, in collaboration with the Asia Pacific Humanitarian Fund and in partnership with the district administration and the Social Welfare Department, today distributed 2800 maunds of flour, 14,000 kg of cooking oil, 14,000 kg of gram lentils, and 4200 kg of porridge among 1400 flood-affected deserving families in three union councils of Jhang Tehsil under the “Food Basket of Hope” project.

Project Coordinator Adib Alam confirmed that each family’s relief package included 80 kilograms of flour, 10 kilograms of cooking oil, 10 kilograms of lentils, and 3 kilograms of supplementary food items.

The beneficiaries were selected after a comprehensive door-to-door survey and verification. The initiative prioritized marginalized groups, with special attention given to widows, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities to ensure aid reached the most vulnerable.

Mr. Alam stated that fair and transparent distribution was ensured in the flood-affected areas of Union Council Hassan Khan, Shah Jeewna, and Sultan Pur.

Several government officials and community figures actively participated in the distribution process. Among those present were Saima Gul, in-charge of UNOCHA Jhang, Shahbaz Khan, Deputy Director of Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal Jhang, and human rights activist Asif Munawar. They praised the relief effort and thanked Agahi Organization and its donor agencies.
