Regional Director Provincial Ombudsman Visits Badin Hospital, Orders Installation of Complaint Box

Provincial Ombudsman Badin’s Regional Director Abdul Wahab Memon emphasized the importance of patient care during a detailed inspection of the Dr. Sikandar Ali Mandhro District Hospital, managed by Indus Network. He directed the Head of Campus, Dr. Sikandar Ali Memon, to install a complaint box and ensure daily addressal of public concerns. Dr. Memon confirmed the existing complaint mechanism and daily resolution of issues, adding that his office is available for direct complaints.

Mr. Memon instructed the hospital’s physicians to provide optimal treatment to minimize unnecessary referrals. He acknowledged the financial burden placed on patients by travel and private healthcare expenses, especially those already facing economic hardship. He also stressed the importance of compassionate communication with suffering patients, noting that tolerating the occasional difficult behavior of the ill is a form of social service.

Dr. Sikandar Ali Memon briefed the director about the 300-bed hospital which serves approximately 1000 outpatients daily. He affirmed that all medical facilities, including medicines, diagnostic imaging, laboratory analysis, and operations, are offered free of charge. Emergency ambulance services are also available for referrals. Furthermore, the hospital provides three meals a day to the patients.
