Repealing IOK special status confession of defeat by India: JKPL

Srinagar, September 20, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL) has said that the August 05 illegal move of the Indian government to repeal the special status of Kashmiris is actually confession of its defeat in the territory.

A JKPL spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that India had broken all records of brutalities in occupied Kashmir in the last 72 years but failed to intimidate the Kashmiris into submission. He said that the Kashmiri people were determined to take the liberation movement to its logical conclusion at all costs.

The spokesman condemned the arrest of Hurriyat leaders and activists by the Indian government and shifting them to different jails of India. He deplored that the party Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, and other leaders Molvi Bilal Ahmad, Bashir Baba, Shabbir Ahmad, Abdur Rasheed and Manzoor Waza had also been arrested and lodged in different jails. He said that relatives of illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists were also not being allowed to meet them.

The spokesman also expressed concern over the deteriorating health of the party Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, lodged illegally at Dak Bungalow, Islamabad, where he has been deprived of medical facilities. He also thanked the government and leadership of Pakistan for exposing the real face of India and highlighting the Indian brutalities in occupied Kashmir at the international level.
