Risk allowance demanded for agriculture workers

Quetta:Shakeel Zehri, Chairman Balochistan Agriculture Officers Action Committee calls one authority to sanction three-month ‘Risk Allowance’ for agriculture workers, officers and field staff working in 33 districts of the province for eliminating the threat posed by locusts.

Addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club here on Saturday along with Ayub Baloch, Sabir Khan, Saifullah Kakar, Abdul Rehman, Muhammad Ismail, Tahir Khan Tajik, Dr. Muhammad Qasim, Jamil Mengal and others, he said staff of Agriculture Department were fighting the threat of locust in the province. He added pesticides used for eliminating locusts and other insects were highly detrimental to human health.

Shakeel Zehri also demanded introduction of equal pay and allowances for all employees of the province. He said skyrocketing inflation had made it difficult for the employees of the province to make their end meet. He called on authorities to announce at least twenty five percent increase in the pay of employees during the budget of current financial year.

He remarked, “Service structure of Agriculture Department needs to be revised as in the present service structure of Agriculture Department, there are no chances for employees to be promoted to next scale”. He called on Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan, Chief Secretary Balochistan Fazeel Asghar, Provincial Minister for Agriculture Engineer Zamrak Khan Achakzai, Secretary Agriculture Department Qambar Dashti and Secretary Finance Department Noor-Ullah-Haq Baloch to entertain genuine demands of Balochistan Agriculture Officers Action Committee.
