Rs109 Billion Development Push to Drive Sindh’s Economic Transformation: Sharjeel

Sindh Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon said on Monday that owing to the Sindh government’s effective policies, development projects, and investor-friendly initiatives, the province was emerging as a gateway to economic growth and investment.

He said the ongoing and proposed mega projects across Sindh would establish a strong foundation for modern infrastructure, ushering in a new era of employment, industrial development, trade, and improved public services. He added that, through the provincial government’s sustained efforts, Sindh was rapidly progressing towards becoming a modern, prosperous, and leading investment hub.

In a statement, Memon said that the confidence of both domestic and foreign investors had been restored due to transparent governance, modern policies, a one-window facilitation system, and the provision of a business-friendly environment. He said the Sindh government was taking practical measures to further strengthen the provincial economy, boost exports, and promote industrial growth.

He added that mega projects such as the S-3 Sewerage Project, Dhabeji Special Economic Zone, S-BOSS, and a modern smart surveillance system would mark a new chapter in Sindh’s development and play a vital role in attracting investment. He further said that the Sindh government was also working on a comprehensive development package worth more than Rs100 billion for Karachi, under which roads, bridges, water supply, sewerage, storm-water drainage, and other urban infrastructure would be upgraded on modern lines. He added that these projects would not only transform Karachi but also equip other major cities of Sindh with modern urban facilities, significantly improving the quality of urban life.

Memon said that the proposed Medical City project would prove to be a major breakthrough in transforming Sindh into a modern healthcare hub. He said the project would provide world-class medical facilities, promote advanced medical research, and create new investment opportunities. He added that the establishment of new industrial zones and investment clusters would expand local industries, attract fresh investment, and significantly enhance economic activity.

He further said that the Sindh government was implementing development projects worth more than Rs109 billion under public-private partnership arrangements, which would play a crucial role in the province’s development, job creation, investment promotion, and public welfare.

Memon said that the Pakistan Peoples Party government believed in practical performance rather than empty promises, which was why Sindh was moving steadily on the path of development, investment, and prosperity. He expressed confidence that, in the coming years, Sindh would not only play a more significant role in Pakistan’s economy but would also emerge as the country’s strongest centre of economic growth.
