Rural development is at the top of Sindh’s agenda, said Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah today, acknowledging its crucial role in the formation of a strong and self-reliant Pakistan. In his message on the occasion of World Rural Development Day today, Shah emphasized that strengthening rural areas is equivalent to securing the nation’s future.
Highlighting the essential role of farmers and rural populations in the economy and food security, Shah outlined the strategic measures of the Sindh government to eradicate rural poverty, create employment opportunities, and promote agricultural development.
Facing the challenges of climate change, Shah advocated for empowering rural areas so they can adapt to these challenges and thrive. He stressed the importance of modernizing the agricultural sector, improving water management, and incorporating modern technology.
Youth and women in rural areas are at the center of these efforts, with a focus on providing education, skill development, and financial resources. The government’s commitment includes significant investments in infrastructure such as roads, health, education, and basic facilities to uplift rural communities.
Shah also highlighted the promotion of rural businesses and the agricultural value chain as drivers of economic growth, claiming that sustainable development, social justice, and environmental protection must progress together.
In his concluding remarks, the Chief Minister promised equal development opportunities and a dignified life for every rural resident of Sindh, reinforcing the comprehensive governmental commitment to rural transformation.
