On the occasion of World Environment Day, Governor Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi said in his special message today that a clean, green, and safe environment is the guarantee of a brighter future for coming generations. He stated that World Environment Day reminds us of our shared responsibility to protect the planet and work towards a sustainable future.
The governor emphasized that environmental pollution and climate change have become major challenges for Pakistan, requiring a collective response from the government, civil society, and the public. He said that environmental protection is not solely a government responsibility but a national duty for every citizen.
He urged the public to adopt tree plantation, responsible water usage, and energy conservation practices, adding that afforestation should be embraced as a national responsibility. He encouraged every citizen to plant at least one tree and promote environmentally friendly alternatives by reducing unnecessary plastic consumption.
The governor called upon the younger generation to take a leading role in promoting environmental awareness, cleanliness campaigns, and green initiatives. He noted that the scope of green initiatives and tree plantation campaigns across Sindh is being further expanded to ensure the protection of natural resources, prevent water wastage, and promote a cleaner environment.
Concluding his message, Hashmi said that a clean, green, and environmentally sustainable Sindh is the collective vision, and protecting the planet and safeguarding future generations remain among our foremost responsibilities.
