In a significant development for urban commerce, over 400 hawkers were allotted stalls through a transparent open ballot at the country’s first “Sahulat On-the-Go Bazaar” established in Lahore on Monday.
This landmark initiative represents a new strategy to organize street-level trade within the province, providing informal traders with regulated spaces to conduct their business.
This development is part of a wider expansion of bazaars within Lahore, where ten such markets are currently operational.
Officials have also announced plans to further expand this network, with five more markets set to become functional by the upcoming February.
