SAPM: (Govt’s multi-billion economic package reflects compassion for nation: Dr Firdous)

ISLAMABAD:Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said the government’s multi-billion economic package reflects its compassion for the poor and the nation.

In a series of tweets on Wednesday, she said it is a comprehensive and the best package to deal with challenge posed by coronavirus keeping in view the problems of different segments of the society.

She pointed out that under this package, two hundred billion rupees have been allocated for the laborer class and 150 billion rupees for the poor.

She said Rs100 billion refund to exporters will help the export industry and it will have positive impact on the economy. Another 100 billion rupees for the agriculture and small and medium enterprise will help improve their productivity.

Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said allocation of 50 billion rupees to the Utility Stores is aimed at providing quality items to the people at reduce rates. 280 billion rupees have been earmarked for the official procurement of wheat. She said petroleum prices have been reduced by Rs15.
