SAU launches new scholarship program

Sindh Agriculture University (SAU), Tandojam, has partnered with the HYKAZ Aamnat Education Support Program to introduce a scholarship initiative aimed at assisting financially constrained students in the Faculty of Crop Production.

The agreement, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), was signed at a ceremony held at the university’s Senate Hall. The MoU was inked by SAU Vice Chancellor Dr Fateh Marri and Prof Dr Kazi Suleman Memon, a former dean and representative of the HYKAZ program. The scholarships will provide deserving students with much-needed financial relief, enabling them to pursue their academic goals without hindrance.

Speaking at the event, Dr Marri commended the efforts of SAU faculty and alumni in extending scholarships and supporting students. ‘The contributions of Dr Kazi Suleman Memon, both during and after his tenure at SAU, have been instrumental in building scholarship and endowment funds,’ he said. He also urged sponsors to contribute further to expand financial aid programs and foster capacity-building initiatives for students.

Memon expressed his gratitude toward his alma mater and emphasized the role of merit-based scholarships in enhancing academic performance. ‘Giving back to the institution that shaped my educational and professional growth is a matter of great pride,’ he remarked.

The event was attended by prominent figures, including Dr Inayatullah Rajper, Dean of the Faculty of Crop Production; Dr Altaf Ali Siyal, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology; Prof Dr Muhammad Ismail Kumbhar, Director University Advancement; and other academic and administrative heads.
