Saudi cabinet renews condemnation of terrorist attacks on 2 mosques in New Zealand

Riyadh The Saudi Council of Ministers on Tuesday emphasized the Kingdom’s positions calling for the need to respect religions as well as to criminalize and combat racist rhetoric that fuels extremism and terrorism.

Minister of Media Turki Al-Shabanah said in a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the weekly cabinet session, chaired by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, that the Council of Ministers reiterated Saudi Arabia’s condemnation of the recent horrific terrorist attacks on two mosques in the New Zealand city of Christchurch.

The cabinet also denounced all forms and manifestations of terrorism, whatever may be its source, as it does not serve the world peace and security. It further reaffirmed the Kingdom’s positions that those who support extremism, hatred and violence will not be tolerated and that terrorism has no religion and no homeland.

It is high time for us to rally around in embracing the values of love, harmony and peace, the Council of Ministers emphasized in its statement.

Meanwhile, the cabinet expressed appreciation of the prime minister, government and people of New Zealand for their efforts to tackle this grisly crime.
