Saudi Envoy and Pakistan’s Petroleum Minister Explore Mineral Sector Collaboration

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Petroleum, Ali Pervaiz Malik, met with Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Malkiy, to explore opportunities for collaboration in the minerals and energy sectors. The meeting underscored the longstanding and growing relationship between the two nations, bound by shared religious and cultural ties.

A key point of discussion was Pakistan's participation in the forthcoming Future Minerals Forum in Riyadh later this month. The Minister announced that Pakistan will showcase its mineral potential through a dedicated pavilion titled "Pakistan - The Mineral Marvel." This initiative aims to attract global interest in Pakistan's geological landscape and its mineral wealth.

The Pakistani delegation, led by Minister Malik, will include representatives from both state-owned and private sector mineral companies. At the forum, a 90-minute session titled "Unleashing Potential: Accelerating Pakistan's Mineral Revolution" will feature the Minister, company CEOs, and international experts discussing the country's mineral sector prospects.

Ambassador Al-Malkiy expressed appreciation for Pakistan's involvement in the forum and reiterated the robust brotherly relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. He emphasized the significant potential for cooperation in the minerals and energy sectors and expressed confidence that the forum would strengthen ties between the two countries.

In closing, both parties committed to further enhancing bilateral relations and fostering mutual economic growth through collaborative efforts in the mineral sector. The pavilion at the Riyadh forum will also act as a precursor to the Pakistan Mineral Investment Forum 2026, slated for April in Islamabad, aiming to draw international participation and investment.
