Section 144 Imposed in Sindh to Prevent Firing During Independence Day Celebrations

Sindh Interior Minister Zia Hassan Lanjar has announced the imposition of Section 144 for two days to prevent firing during Independence Day celebrations, which will prohibit public gatherings and demonstrations. Addressing the media at the Sindh Assembly, Lanjar emphasized the inappropriateness of aerial firing and appealed to citizens to refrain from this dangerous practice. He stressed that Independence Day should be an occasion for joy, not harm.

The minister confirmed the Sindh government’s enthusiastic participation in the Independence Day celebrations and highlighted the official and private events taking place across the province. The restrictions under Section 144 are aimed at ensuring public safety and security during these celebrations.
