Authorities across Punjab have today finalized a comprehensive security strategy to safeguard the events held for the Martyrdom Day of Hazrat Ali Al-Murtaza (RA), under which over 30,000 police officers and personnel will be deployed.

The provincial capital will be the central focus of this security operation, where a contingent of over 8,000 personnel will perform duties across Lahore.

According to security details from across the province, over 20,000 personnel will be deployed to secure 217 mourning processions and an additional 10,000 officers for the security of 994 gatherings.

To ensure strict checking of all participants, authorities will use 2,029 metal detectors and 297 walk-through gates at the various entry points of the processions and gatherings.

A high-alert plan has been devised for specific events, under which 32 processions and 67 gatherings have been placed in category “A” and put under special surveillance.

All commemorative activities will be under round-the-clock technical surveillance, which includes continuous monitoring through the Safe City camera network and surveillance systems managed by the district administration.
