Services of women needed in Balochistan’s media sector: Raheela

QUETTA:Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, former Speaker and leader of Pakistan Muslim League (N), has said that the services of women were direly needed in Balochistan’s media sector.

 

These views were expressed by her while addressing a “Dialogue” regarding challenges of women journalists held under the auspices of “Women Lead Alliance Balochistan” at Quetta Press Club here on Monday. “I started my career as a journalist, joined legal profession and then switched to politics, she said, adding that women were confronting hardships in all sectors, but luckily the platforms of Quetta Press Club and Balochistan Union of Journalists were there to address the problems being confronted by female journalists.

 

She said that investigative journalism was required to be promoted and simultaneously discouragement of yellow journalism was the needed. Dialogue was also addressed by Sana Durrani, Abdul Khaliq Rind, President, Quetta Press Club, senior journalist Saleem Shahid and others.
