The manager of a garment shop in North Nazimabad allegedly ended his life by shooting himself with a security guard’s pistol on Tuesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Rana Saqib, aged between 30 and 35. He was the manager of the clothing store “Brand Zone” located in Hyderi Market, Block H.
According to the initial investigation, Saqib was the first to arrive at the shop that day. The incident occurred before the shop’s security guard arrived for duty.
Law enforcement agencies immediately arrived at the scene upon receiving news of the shooting. The SHO of the Hyderi Market Police Station and the Crime Scene Unit are at the scene and collecting evidence.
Authorities have taken the security guard’s pistol used in the incident into custody.
A spokesperson for the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) District Central, Dr. Muhammad Imran Khan, stated that the initial investigation and an eyewitness account indicate that the incident was a suicide. Investigations are being conducted from various angles to ascertain the full circumstances.
Further legal proceedings are underway to formally determine the nature of the person’s death.
