Shutdown in Chenab valley against attacks on Muslims

Jammu, February 21, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed in Chenab valley of Jammu region as a mark of protest against the harassment of the Kashmiri and local Muslims. Call for the strike was given by the Anjuman-e-Islamia Bhadarwah (AIB) and supported by Majlis-e-Shoura Kishtwar, Seerat Committee Doda and Anjuman-e-Islamia Thathri.

AIB President Pervaiz Ahmed Sheikh in a statement said the violence against Muslims in Jammu was part of an RSS agenda against the Muslims especially of Chenab Valley, Pir Panchal and Kashmir valley. The AIB issued the call for peaceful strike to show solidarity with the people of Chenab Valley, Pir Panchal and Kashmir residing in different parts of Jammu.

“Governor Satya Pal Malik has started showing his true colours. It seems that for Indian government, it has become order of the day to harass Muslims. Perhaps, this is the only way they can remain in good books of their RSS masters in Nagpur,” said Pervaiz Ahmed Sheikh. Over 200 vehicles were torched followed by selective violence against Muslims, especially belonging to Chenab Valley, Pir Panchal and Kashmir in different parts of Jammu on Friday.
