Internationally, gold prices also saw an increase, rising by 44 dollars and reaching 4,616 dollars per ounce.
Silver also registered gains, with its per tola price increasing by 55 rupees, reaching 7,821 rupees.
The price of ten grams of the white metal increased by 47 rupees, bringing its total price to 6,705 rupees.
In the global commodity exchange, one ounce of silver was quoted at 73.37 dollars.
