Simon Katich Returns to Pakistan, Joins Star-Studded Commentary Panel for Australia T20I Series

Former Australian Test batsman Simon Katich is scheduled to make his return to Pakistan, this time as a commentator for the upcoming three-match T20I series against his home nation, which commences on Thursday.

Katich last visited the country in March 2022 to call the historic three-match Test series, which marked Australia’s first tour of Pakistan in 24 years.

He will be part of a distinguished five-member commentary team. Joining the Australian in the commentary box will be former Pakistan Test captains Aamir Sohail and Ramiz Raja, alongside former Test batter Bazid Khan and former Pakistan Women’s team captain Urooj Mumtaz, according to a PCB report today.

The on-ground presentation will be led by Zainab Abbas, who will host the PCB”s PitchSide Studio programme, providing viewers with expert analysis during the pre- and post-match shows for all three encounters at the Gaddafi Stadium.

The second and third T20Is are scheduled for Saturday, 31 January, and Sunday, 1 February, respectively, with all matches set to begin at 4pm PKT.

A comprehensive High-Definition broadcast production is planned, utilising a setup of 28 cameras, including a buggy cam. The Decision Review System (DRS) will be enhanced with HawkEye and UltraEdge technology.

For viewers in Pakistan, the highly-anticipated live-action will be available on PTV Sports, with live-streaming options on Tamasha, Tapmad, and Myco.

International audiences can follow the series on various platforms, including Fox Sports in Australia, Willow in North America, SuperSport in Africa, T Sports in Bangladesh, and Cricbuzz across the MENA region. Fans in the United Kingdom will have access to a live-stream via PCB Live.
