In a significant move to enhance administrative efficiency, Chief Secretary Sindh Asif Hyder Shah today mandated all provincial departments to advertise their vacant positions on the government job portal by the end of January, further directing a strict one-year deadline for finalizing employee pension cases.
During a comprehensive Secretaries Committee meeting, the Chief Secretary highlighted that transparent and prompt recruitment is fundamental to strengthening public service delivery. The session, attended by secretaries from all provincial departments, addressed a range of critical administrative matters.
The gathering was informed that provincial cabinet meetings have transitioned to a fully digital format, representing a major step toward modernizing governance. In line with this digital shift, Mr. Shah instructed the Law, Services, General Administration, and Universities and Boards departments to ensure all summaries for the Chief Minister are submitted electronically.
Addressing citizen grievances, the Chief Secretary ordered all departments to guarantee the swift resolution of complaints lodged through the Prime Minister’s Complaint Cell. He underscored that public trust is contingent upon effective and timely responses to citizens” issues.
The discussion also covered the progress of development projects, with a directive issued to all secretaries for the timely completion of ongoing schemes. Alongside the pension timeline, it was stipulated that medical reimbursement cases must be settled within six months to prevent undue delays.
Furthermore, Mr. Shah instructed all departmental heads to establish an effective Complaint Redressal Management Mechanism and enforce strict adherence to office timings. He stressed that discipline, efficiency, and accountability are cornerstones for elevating governance standards.
Concluding the session, the Chief Secretary called upon all departments to implement tangible measures aimed at improving the quality of public service and ensuring better facilitation for the province”s residents.
