Sindh Chief Minister visits Spencer Eye Hospital, inspects its wards, operation theater and other departments

The recently restored Spencer Eye Hospital will provide free treatment to the public, operating under a new public-private partnership with modern facilities. This was announced during an official visit by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.

The Chief Minister, accompanied by Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab, on Saturday inspected the upgraded outpatient department (OPD), patient wards, operation theater, and other sections of the health facility.

During the visit, Mayor Wahab briefed the Chief Minister on the extensive restoration work and the modern facilities now available at the hospital. Municipal Commissioner Karachi Abrar Jaffar and social leader Mushtaq Chhapra were also present on the occasion.

The mayor confirmed that this project marks the beginning of a broader initiative, and said that other hospitals managed by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) will also be upgraded to improve medical services for residents.

Mayor Wahab also mentioned that with the support of the Sindh government, large-scale development projects are underway across the city, aimed at making the city a “cradle of lights” again.

After inspecting the hospital’s improvements, Chief Minister Shah expressed his satisfaction with the quality of the completed work.
