Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori on Monday highlighted the crucial role of renewable power sources in addressing the region’s energy crisis and providing public relief from expensive electricity bills, in a special message marking World Clean Energy Day.
The governor described the advancement of clean and affordable power as one of the most critical needs of the time, calling it a guarantee for an environmentally friendly and secure future.
He emphasised that embracing sustainable energy can not only help resolve power shortfalls but also plays a significant role in mitigating the adverse effects of climate change, suggesting the day serves as an opportunity to renew a collective commitment to green energy.
Mr Tessori pointed to Sindh”s vast potential in its wind corridors and for solar power generation, asserting that these resources could be effectively harnessed to overcome the ongoing energy challenges.
He noted that practical measures are currently being taken at the Governor House to promote solar energy adoption.
The ultimate objective, he reiterated, is to ensure the provision of affordable, sustainable, and eco-friendly electricity to every household in the province.
