Sindh ministers visit Chinese automobile company Chery Holdings

Sindh’s Senior Minister, Sharjeel Inam Memon, and Minister of Energy, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, visited the headquarters of the Chinese automobile company Chery Holdings Group in Wuhu.

They were welcomed by Chairman Yin Tongyue. During this visit, Chery Holdings Group expressed their willingness to install charging points for electric vehicles (EVs) in Sindh, Sindh Information Department reported today.

According to Sharjeel Inam Memon, an EV charging station will be established every 50 kilometers in all districts of Sindh. These charging stations will be beneficial for owners of EV motorcycles, cars, and trucks. He further stated that innovation is coming to the transportation system of Sindh, and their vision is to promote environmentally friendly EV vehicles.

Chery Holdings has assured that EV charging stations will be installed throughout Sindh. The establishment of these stations will provide employment to local people, while an assembly plant for EV mini trucks is also being set up in Karachi.

Energy minister mentioned that Chinese investors have assured full cooperation in solar energy projects in the rural areas of Sindh. The solarization of homes will reduce the energy crisis and will prove to be a significant step in promoting ecofriendly energy.

Syed Nasir further added that at the current stage, solar systems are being provided to poor families so that they can meet their daily energy needs independently. This will not only relieve them from expensive electricity bills but also reduce problems like loadshedding, which will boost the local economy and enable the development of rural areas.
