According to Sindh Taekwondo Association President Kamran Qamar Qureshi, the successful organization of the Sindh Tag Team Taekwondo Championship has ushered in a new era for the promotion of this martial art in the province.

The tournament, held at Sindh Youth Club on Wednesday, witnessed fierce competition among eight men’s and six women’s teams, with senior players showcasing their skills in thrilling contests.

In the women’s tag team category, Khokhar Team secured the first position, while Blazon and Universal teams clinched the second and third positions, respectively. KST Team finished fourth.

In the men’s competitions, Universal Team emerged as the winner, while Khokhar Team secured the runner-up position. Shaheen Team took the third and Blazon Team the fourth position.

At the closing ceremony, District Sports Officer (DSO) East Ismail Shah attended as the chief guest, along with DSOs from Central, Malir, Korangi, and West districts. He distributed medals and certificates among the players, coaches, and officials.

Ismail Shah reiterated his continued commitment to the promotion of all sports, stating, “Preparations for the National Games have begun, and hosting the National Games in the city of the Quaid is a welcome development.”

Karachi Taekwondo Association President Muhammad Faraz Usman praised the emerging talent of the city and said that the participation of hundreds of players was crucial for the event’s success.

The championship was organized by the FK Taekwondo Family. The organizers thanked the sponsors, including the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Sindh, ECS, Combaxx, and the Sindh Olympic Association.
