SMIU Commemorates One Year of Decisive Four-Day Victory Against Indian Aggression

Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) today commemorated the first anniversary of the “Marka-e-Haq” with a rally, where Vice Chancellor Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai hailed the national armed forces” decisive four-day victory against Indian aggression last year, asserting it significantly enhanced Pakistan”s international standing.

The assembly, led by Dr. Sahrai, included university deans Dr. Jamshed Adil Halepoto, Dr. Abdul Hafeez Khan, and Dr. Stephen John, alongside chairpersons of various academic departments, heads of administrative units, faculty, officers, and a substantial number of students. The procession commenced from the university”s main edifice and concluded near its IT Tower.

Addressing participants, Dr. Sahrai stated that in May of the previous year, Pakistan’s military forces exhibited exceptional valour in a conflict with India, securing triumph within four days and thereby forging a respectable international reputation for the country.

The Vice Chancellor asserted that India had sought to prevail through belligerence, brutality, and terror. However, he maintained that Pakistan repelled the adversary by defending its territory in strict adherence to international statutes established by the United Nations. Consequently, friendly nations such as the United States, China, and the European Union acknowledged Pakistan”s fitting rejoinder to safeguard its national frontiers.

Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai extended commendations to the Pakistan Armed Forces and their chief, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir Ahmed, on the first anniversary of the Marka-e-Haq. He remarked that the defence forces confronted the foe with profound nationalistic zeal, a display observed globally with admiration and which affirmed Pakistan”s might and spirit.

Furthermore, Dr. Sahrai recalled the words of Pakistan”s founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who advocated for peaceful coexistence. He emphasised that Pakistan has consistently promoted tranquillity and sought to amicably resolve the Kashmir dispute, along with the Indus Water Treaty and other contentions instigated by India. In stark contrast, India has persistently adopted an aggressive stance, which, he claimed, is now being universally denounced.

The Vice Chancellor also highly praised the pivotal role of the Pakistani media during the May conflict, crediting it with informing the global community about India’s malicious intentions and actions by accurately presenting facts. Conversely, he criticised the Indian media for its exceedingly negative portrayal, asserting it had disgraced itself internationally by disseminating false and fabricated reports.

Concluding his address, he urged the youth to contribute actively to the nation”s security and advancement. He also counselled the faculty to cultivate capable and intellectually mature young individuals who can ensure their country”s prosperity.
