Sohail’s election before approval of Gandapur’s resignation is unconstitutional: Spokesperson of the Government of Pakistan for Sindh

Spokesperson of the Government of Pakistan for Sindh, Barrister Raja Khaleeq-uz-Zaman Ansari, said in a statement today that the election of Sohail Afridi in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa before the approval of Chief Minister Gandapur’s resignation is unconstitutional. This is an extra-constitutional step which we will challenge in court.

In a statement, Barrister Ansari criticized the swift electoral process, expressing concern that it undermines the authority of the state’s constitution. He said that ignoring constitutional procedures can have serious consequences and warned that those responsible will face legal consequences.

Ansari highlighted the absence of discussion on the deteriorating law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, indicating that the new administration is ignoring important governmental issues.
