Solar Power Secures Uninterrupted Digital Learning for Hundreds of Schoolgirls

A new solar power installation at a government girls’ school in Karachi is set to tackle frequent electricity disruptions, ensuring hundreds of students have continuous access to digital and creative education. The project, a collaboration between Mobilink Bank and Zindagi Trust, addresses a critical infrastructure gap that previously hindered technology-based learning.

According to Mobilink Bank’s information on Tuesday, the undertaking, part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility programme, involved solarising the Digital Arts Lab at Khatoon-e-Pakistan Government Girls Secondary School. This renewable energy solution will provide a reliable power source for approximately 320 students from grades 6 to 8, with the system designed to support all future classes at the facility.

Speaking on the project, Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary, President and CEO of Mobilink Bank, stated: ‘Access to uninterrupted, sustainable energy is critical for meaningful digital learning. Through this collaboration with Zindagi Trust, Mobilink Bank is addressing a pressing national challenge while enabling young girls to learn, create, and thrive in a technology-driven world.’

The intervention aligns with Zindagi Trust’s objective of reforming public education by creating modern learning environments. The organisation emphasised its belief that effective educational reform requires both advanced teaching methods and the necessary supporting infrastructure to ensure students in public schools can develop essential digital and critical thinking skills.

By equipping the school”s computer lab with a sustainable energy source, the project provides an immediate benefit to current students and establishes a long-term, eco-friendly solution for future generations.

The partnership between Mobilink Bank and Zindagi Trust aims to bridge infrastructure deficiencies in the education sector through scalable and socially responsible solutions.
