Sports – Aliya Riaz Discusses Upcoming South Africa Tour, Sets Sights on 2026 T20 World Cup

Pakistan’s international cricketer Aliya Riaz has offered insights into the national team’s preparations for the upcoming tour to South Africa and the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, featuring as the guest on the 70th edition of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) podcast.

According to PCB information on Sunday, the seasoned all-rounder reflected on her journey to international cricket, shared her favourite career moments, and emphasised the critical importance of fitness for professional athletes.

The discussion also encompassed a review of the Pakistan Women’s team performances in the CWC 2025 and observations from the recently concluded national women’s skills and fitness camp, designed to prepare players for future fixtures.

Riaz, who received her 30th T20I cap and 71st ODI cap in August 2014, has been a regular fixture in the national side. She has so far represented the country in 81 Women’s One-Day Internationals and 102 Women’s Twenty20 Internationals.

Throughout her career, the right-handed batter has accumulated 1,620 runs in the 50-over format and 1,202 runs in T20 internationals. Her contributions with the ball have also yielded a combined 32 wickets across both formats.
