LARKANA: An important meeting of Larkana police was chaired by SSP Larkana Sarfraz Nawaz Shaikh, in his office on Wednesday, which included SP Asif Raza Baloch, ASP Mian Ali Raza, all DSPs, SHOs, traffic sergeants, Madadgar Base-1.

During the meeting, important decisions were taken after considering the directions issued by newly posted IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon. Addressing the officers during the meeting, the SSP said that resolving the problems of the people, controlling the crime and arrest of suspected criminals was one of my top priorities as today’s meeting of IG, law and order, investigation of drug cases, drug dealers, Gutka, Mawa, home-based crime prevention including robberies, motorcycle robbery, thefts, elimination of criminal gangs, stepping up stern actions against social evils, delay in filing FIRs, prevention of tribal clashes, legal action against police personnel involved in criminal activities.

He said the IGP guidelines include effective use of personnel, including judicial matters, foreigners’ security, police personnel welfare and unnecessary guns or guard cases. SSP Sarfraz directed the officers to make the inquiry cases more efficient and effective with the prosecution against the criminals. It is the first responsibility of the police to resolve the cases and bring the culprits to court. He said that the process of inquiry will be monitored regularly throughout the district; all DSPs, SHOs and SIOs will have access to their professional skills, training and experience, not just logical endeavors.

But the relevant courts also give exemplary sentences to the suspects involved. The SSP said that with the help of modern technological systems and CCTV cameras located throughout the city, further action should be taken against regular criminal elements. He said he will not tolerate any form of abuse of power, mismanagement and corruption. He said anti-riot police has been kept alert round the clock at police headquarters hence they should be contacted for further help.
