Steps afoot to provide health facility to Balochistan people: Farah

QUETTA: Spokesperson for provincial government, Farah Azeem Shah, has said that all possible steps were being taken to provide healthcare facilities to the people of far flung areas of the province.

In a statement issued here on Friday, she said that it was being ensured to provide healthcare facilities and medicines to the patients in government run healthcare facilities of the province, adding that 100 Basic Health Units (BHUs) had been granted BHU-plus status and thirty Basic Health Units (BHUs) had been upgraded to HRC-plus apart from initiating afresh the development work of stopped development projects.

She said that in order to provide healthcare facilities to the people at their threshold, all the Basic Health Units of the province had been operationalized, adding that the presence of doctors and other healthcare staff in the district Headquarters Hospitals of the province had been ensured so as to address the grievances of the people regarding treatment facilities in government hospitals.

She said that the incumbent provincial government under the leadership of Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, Chief Minister Balochistan had attached foremost priority to health sector of the province, adding that in the best interest of the people, such policies were being framed and decisions made to improve the living standard of the people and address their problems.
