ISLAMABAD: A high level delegation of Sunwalk Group led by its Chairman Mr Hou called on Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Aminul Haque here on Tuesday.
Matters related to investment in telecom infrastructure, Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) laying and Right of Way (RoW) were discussed during the meeting. The delegation apprised the Minister that Sunwalk Group intended to invest USD $ 2 billion in Telecom Sector for deployment of Optical Fiber Network, encompassing area of 100,000 km over a period of time in Pakistan.
Sunwalk (Pvt.) Ltd, is a Telecom and Technology based multinational private Chinese enterprise that has developed multiple Telecom, communication infrastructure projects in China and has acquired TIP License in Pakistan.
The delegation said the company already started deployment and invested about USD $ 5 Million and has a plan to deploy 5000 km OFC as next step. The Minister informed the delegation that consultation with Ministry of Railways and Highways Authority was going on regarding Right of Way to laying OFC.
He assured the delegation that all obstacles regarding OFC laying will be removed soon. Chairman Sunwalk Mr Hou expressed his gratitude to the Federal Minister for IT Syed Aminul Haque and his team for their full support and cooperation.
