Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Division, Nadeem Ahmed Abro, has imposed a 90-day ban on all swimming, bathing, and recreational activities in the canals and tributaries of the division. This directive will apply to all three districts of the division.
A government announcement cited tragic drowning incidents during summer and monsoon seasons as the reason for the ban. Abro said the measure was necessary to protect lives.
Officers of the rank of Inspector or above have been directed to ensure implementation of the ban. Violators will be prosecuted under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
