KP: (Snowboarding event kicks off in Malam Jabba)

ISLAMABAD:Pakistan International Snowboarding Cup kicked off in the scenic Malam Jabba area of Swat on Monday. The six days' event has been organized by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa department of Tourism in collaboration with a private business enterprise. Participants from across the country are taking part in the snowboarding cup. Food and music festivals have also been arranged to entertain the tourists.

ECP: (ECP suspends membership of 154 MPs over failure to submit asset details)

ISLAMABAD:The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday announced that the membership of 154 members of the Senate, national and provincial assemblies has been suspended for failing to submit statements of their assets and liabilities. According to Section 137(1) of the Elections Act, 2017, lawmakers are required to submit a statement of their assets and liabilities, as well as those of their spouses and dependent children, by December 31 each year. The membership of the lawmakers will remain suspended until they submit their respective statements. IIOJK: (People stage protest against occupation of playground by Indian army in IIOJ and K)

ISLAMABAD:In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ and K), people staged a protest demonstration against attempts by Indian army to forcibly occupy a playground in Srinagar city. According to reports, the protesters gathered at Press Enclave and staged protest against fencing of playground by Indian army in Chattabal area of the city. The protesters said the army is occupying anything at will in the territory and there is no one to question it.

Minister: (Educational institutions from grade 9 to 12 reopened)

ISLAMABAD:The educational institutions from grade nine to twelve reopened on Monday across the country. The institutions were shut in the wake of second wave of COVID-19. In the next phase, grade one to eight and higher educational institutions will reopen on 1st of next month. The educational institutions have been directed to ensure compliance to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to avoid the spread of the pandemic. In his tweet, Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood wished the students best and said their future is our priority.

President: (President emphasizes on mass awareness about advantages of breastfeeding)

ISLAMABAD:President Dr Arif Alvi has emphasized on mass awareness about advantages of breastfeeding for better health of mother and child. Addressing a seminar on Promotion of Breastfeeding here on Monday, he said media, Ulema and Lady Health workers have important role to play in this regard. The President said breastfeeding proves an effective prevention against several diseases for mother and child, and it is the best nutrition for a new born baby. He said we need to follow the Quranic teachings about breastfeeding, which have also been endorsed by modern science.
