Rawalpindi, March 22, 2023 (PPI-OT): Funeral prayers of Brigadier Mustafa Kamal Barki who embraced martyrdom during an encounter with hardcore terrorists in Angoor Adda, South Waziristan yesterday was performed at Race Course Rawalpindi today.

Honourable President Islamic Republic of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi, Honourable Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, DG Inter Services Iintelligence (ISI) Lieutenant General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum and large number of serving and retired military officers and soldiers, government officials, Parliamentarians and public attended the funeral.

The officer was buried at Army Graveyard with full military honours in acknowledgment of his services to the nation.

Throughout his military career, Brigadier Barki remained involved in active counter terrorism operations and successfully dismantled numerous terrorist networks in KPK and Balochistan. He was monumental in neutralizing the terrorist networks involved in APS attack 2016.

The nation recognizes his meritorious services in life and supreme sacrifice offered for Pakistan. Armed Forces of Pakistan and Intelligence Agencies stand resilient against terrorism and reaffirm the resolve to eradicate this menace of terrorism at all costs.

Rawalpindi, March 22, 2023 (PPI-OT):Havildar Azhar Iqbal, Naik Mohammad Asad and Sepoy Essa of Pakistan Army who embraced shahadat during an operation in Saggu, Dera Ismail Khan were laid to rest with full military honours in Lodhran, Mian Channu and Bobar Ziarat, South Waziristan respectively. The funeral and burial were attended by serving and retired military personnels, families and relatives of Shaheeds and a large number of people from various segments of the society.

Armed Forces of Pakistan and intelligence agencies stand resolute and determined to uproot the menace of terrorism at all costs. These sacrifices reaffirm our resolve and strengthen our faith in fight against terrorism to provide a peaceful Pakistan to our coming generations.

Rawalpindi, March 21, 2023 (PPI-OT):On 21 March 2023, during an encounter with the hard-core terrorists in general area Angoor Adda, South Waziristan, intense fire was exchanged. Brigadier Mustafa Kamal Barki from Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), while leading the encounter from the front, embraced Shahadat while 7 x members got injured (including 2 critically wounded).

Brigadier Barki and his team put up a valiant resistance against the terrorists during the encounter and the officer sacrificed his life for peace of the motherland. Defence Forces of Pakistan and Intelligence Agencies pledge to reaffirm and demonstrate firm resolve to eliminate the menace of terrorism from every inch of the country.

On night 20/21 March 2023, terrorists opened fire on Police check post in general area Khutti, DI Khan District

Rawalpindi, March 21, 2023 (PPI-OT): On night 20/21 March 2023, terrorists opened fire on Police check post in general area Khutti, DI Khan District. On receipt of the information, security forces immediately cordoned the area, blocking all possible escape routes. Fleeing terrorists were intercepted in general area Saggu, Dera Ismail Khan District. After intense exchange of fire, three terrorists were sent to hell. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists.

However, during intense exchange of fire, Havaldar Muhammad Azhar Iqbal (age 42 years, resident of Lodhran), Naik Muhammad Asad (age 34 years, resident of Khanewal) and Sepoy Muhammad Essa (age 22 years, resident of South Waziristan) having fought gallantly, embraced Shahadat.

Sanitization of the area is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area. Pakistan Army is determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.

Rawalpindi, March 14, 2023 (PPI-OT): COAS General Syed Asim Munir visited forward posts at Pak-Afghan border in South Waziristan and interacted with the troops. COAS laid floral wreath at Yadgar e Shuhada in Wana and visited Formation Headquarters where he was briefed about the operational, training and security matters of the formation as well as progress on development works being undertaken in the Newly Merged Districts (NMDs).

COAS appreciated the CT efforts of the formation and provision of enabling environment for the completion of socio-economic development projects, vital for enduring stability and sustainable progress of NMDs. COAS reiterated the resolve of the Army to fight against terrorism till elimination of the menace. He vowed that sacrifices of Shuhada of Pakistan would not go in vain and complete peace would inshallah return to Pakistan. He highlighted the importance of the synergy between various state institutions and in particular the importance of the people of Pakistan towards the collective fight against terrorism.

The 60 hours long arduous and rigorous 6th International Pakistan Army Team Spirit (PATS) Competition was concluded at National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) Pabbi with an impressive closing ceremony

Rawalpindi, March 11, 2023 (PPI-OT): The 60 hours long arduous and rigorous 6th International Pakistan Army Team Spirit (PATS) Competition was concluded at National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) Pabbi with an impressive closing ceremony today. COAS General Syed Asim Munir graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Seven Pakistan Army teams, Pakistan Navy and 10 international teams including Bahrain, KSA, Morocco, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Jordan, USA, Iraq, Kazakhstan and Qatar participated in the competition, while, teams of Azerbaijan, Canada, Gambia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Maldives, Senegal, Sudan, UAE and UK participated as observers.

The competition continued day and night from 7-9 March in the mountainous and rugged terrain of Pabbi. Over the years, the competition has gained much popularity and has become an international team spirit evaluation event.

While addressing the ceremony, COAS appreciated the participating teams for their professionalism, endurance and high morale displayed during various stages of the exercise. COAS reiterated, “As a training exercise, PATS appropriately replicates the degree of emphasis given by all armies on physical fitness, combat skills and teamwork of their troops in the face of evolving character of warfare.

“To this end, Pakistan Army upholds soldierly attributes of courage, mutual cooperation, resilience and competence which have been displayed during our ongoing fight against terrorism”. COAS also gave away prizes and medals to the participants of the competition. International observers and Defence Attaches of participating countries also attended the ceremony.

Rawalpindi, March 10, 2023 (PPI-OT): On 10 March 2023, Intelligence Based Operations were conducted by security forces in North and South Waziristan Districts. During conduct of the operations, 5 x terrorists were killed after intense fire exchange.

Weapons, ammunition and a large quantity of equipment was also recovered from the killed terrorists. Pakistan Army is determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from every inch of our territory with an unflinching resolve.
