President of Sialkot Chamber stressed on the Government to reconsider its decision on Eid Holidays

Sialkot, July 04, 2022 (PPI-OT):Mian Imran Akbar, President of Sialkot Chamber in a statement given to the press has stressed on the Government to reconsider its decision on Eid Holidays. He said that the manufacturing cum export sector of Pakistan had to work according to the global buyers and their integrated supply chains. In the given scenario and stern deadlines, Mr. Akbar regretted that the 5-day Eid Holidays would put the industry in extreme peril as the shutdown would not only result in delayed shipments but also loss of vital foreign exchange.

The President Chamber was of the view that in the wake of the prevailing energy crisis, the exporters were working in double shifts to somehow meet the deadlines and cannot afford such a long industrial shutdown due to the Eid holidays. Mian Imran Akbar requested His Excellency Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to review the decision and allow the Export Sector along with their backward linkages to work and meet their deadlines in a timely manner by reducing the Holidays from 5 to 3.
