SHC extends Manzoor Wassan’s pre-arrest bail

KARACHI:Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday extended the pre-arrest bail of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Manzoor Wassan in assets beyond income case.   A two-member bench of the SHC heard a petition filed by Manzoor Wassan through his counsel Naeem Iqbal, challenging investigation against him by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).   The NAB prosecutor told the court that the NAB will submit its response to the court after getting instruction from the chairman regarding the probe against the accused.   The court directed NAB investigation officer to present a progress report till February 16 and approved the extension of pre-arrest bail of Wassan. SHC orders exclusion of CM aide’s name from ECL

KARACHI:Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday ordered the federal authorities to remove the name of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah’s aide on prisons and inter-provincial coordination Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani from the Exit Control List (ECL).   The high court issued this order on a petition moved by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Jakhrani challenging the travel ban. He is facing charges of corruption and accumulating more assets than sources of his income justify.   Jakhrani is named in a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) reference and two inquiries. Underage marriage case: SHC orders formation of media board to determine Arzoo’s age

KARACHI:The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday ordered health secretary to constitute a medical board to determine the age of Arzoo, a Christian girl whose family claim she is a underage as she was allegedly abducted before being converted into Islam and married to a 45-year-old Muslim man Ali Azhar.   A SHC bench, headed by Justice KK Agha heard the petition filed by parents of the girl through their counsel Muhammad Jibran Nasir. Arzoo and Azhar were produced before the court today.
