Chief Justice of Pakistan takes start of Judicial Reforms by visiting Mazar-e-Quaid today without any security, protocol and blockade of roads

Islamabad, January 13, 2018 (PPI-OT):The Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has taken the initiative to launch the drastically needed and long awaited Judicial Reforms. His lordship started the mission today by visiting the Mazar-e-Quaid where he offered Fatiha and prayed for the success, tranquillity and stability of Pakistan. His lordship pledged to take the judicial reforms to fruition expeditiously so that the general public begin to reap the benefits of this initiative as soon as possible.

Following in the footsteps of Quaid Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, father of nation, the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan attended Mazar-e-Quaid without any protocol or security detail. No traffic was interrupted and no roads were blocked, thus setting a worthy example.

Moreover, his lordship will spend a busy schedule in the Supreme Court Branch Registry Karachi where he will hear different public interest litigation. His lordship will also chair all Pakistan Chief Justices Conference to launch judicial reforms today. Later, in the evening his lordship will preside over the concluding session of the 3rd Provincial Judicial Conference 2018 arranged by Sindh Judicial Academy.

Chief Justice of Pakistan constitutes Benches for period of one month as a part of judicial reforms

Islamabad, January 10, 2018 (PPI-OT):The Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has constituted Benches in Supreme Court for a period of one month as part of judicial reforms to ensure expeditious disposal of cases and to facilitate litigants and lawyers to make their arrangements in advance. Moreover, on every Friday two member benches have been constituted to hear fresh petitions and which are being filed in large numbers.

Chief Justice of Pakistan chairs meeting on Judicial Reforms in Supreme Court Islamabad

Islamabad, January 10, 2018 (PPI-OT):The Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has chaired a meeting on Judicial reforms in Supreme Court Islamabad today which was attended by Mr. Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, Chief Justice Lahore High Court, officers of Supreme Court, Lahore High Court and Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan. The Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan took briefing from Hon’ble Mr. Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah on Judicial Reforms in Punjab Judiciary.

Hon’ble Mr. Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah gave an overview of reforms recently brought in Punjab judiciary especially in terms of delay reduction, minimization of backlog, e-facilitations to public litigants and lawyers to ensure easy access to Courts, introduction of Information Technology in Courts so as to facilitate public, effective Court and Case Management, promotion of ADRs (Alternate Dispute Resolution), training of Judges, Law Officers and staff, categorization of Courts, etc. to provide inexpensive and expeditious justice to general public.

The Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan praised recent reforms in the Punjab judiciary and treated it as road map for rest of the judiciary for which his lordship is also going to head all Pakistan Chief Justices conference on 13.01.2018 (Saturday) at Supreme Court Branch Registry Karachi to take stock of overall performance of judicial system especially in terms of delays in the system. The conference will also deliberate upon different ways and strategies to bring reforms, innovation and improvements to streamline smooth functioning of current judicial system of Pakistan.

The forum will also deliberate upon different aspects to make Law and Justice Commission an effective body to lead the reforms of law and justice institutions to be fair and inclusive; strengthening organizational capacities and accountability to be effectively responsive to citizens’ security and justice needs and wellbeing; and empowering citizens to assert their rights and claim their entitlements and exercise their duties and obligations.

Chief Justice of Pakistan takes notice on media reports regarding rape and brutal murder of eight years old girl child Zainab in Kasur

Islamabad, January 10, 2018 (PPI-OT):The Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has taken notice of rape and murder of eight-year-old girl child Zainab. According to news report aired on Electronic media today, an eight-year-old’s girl has been raped and brutally murdered in Kasur. Her dead body was found lying in garbage dump. She was abducted 5 days ago when she was going to learn Quran. Taking notice of the issue, the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan has called report from Inspector General of Police, Punjab, within 24 hours.

Chief Justice of Pakistan takes serious notice of delay in completion of Supreme Court Employees Cooperative Housing Society

Islamabad, January 10, 2018 (PPI-OT):The Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has taken serious notice of delay in completion of Supreme Court Employees Cooperative Housing Society. There has been hue and cry of employees/members of the society complaining that despite of lapse of much time, employees/members of society have not yet been allotted any possession of the plots or even land has not been acquired so far. Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan resolved to address the issue and to ensure allotment of plots to allottees as soon as possible.

Showing grave concern about the plight of employees/members, Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has directed Director General, Intelligence Bureau (IB) to conduct a preliminary inquiry in the matter so as to ascertain the causes of delay in allotment of plots to the employees/members and to fix responsibility on the delinquents for undue delay and also to investigate different aspects whether any sort of corruption is involved in the matter.
