In a major success, Thatta police have today detained the leader of an inter-provincial car snatching gang along with 3 accomplices. During this operation, two suspects were injured in an encounter, while a stolen vehicle and weapons were recovered from their possession.
Based on information, SHO Makli and Jang Shahi checkpoint in-charge chased the suspects on Shah Murad Link Road. The gang members fired shots, leading the police to arrest the injured Rasool Bakhsh and Mujahid Hussain, while their accomplices Abbas Ali and Khan Mallah were also taken into custody.
An Alto car was recovered in this operation, which was stolen from Makli on June 4, along with pistols allegedly used in car thefts. Preliminary investigations have confirmed that the suspects are part of a large network involved in car thefts and other illegal activities in various areas.
Notably, Abbas Dooki Mallah has a criminal record, including charges of kidnapping for ransom and murder. The injured suspects have been admitted to the hospital for treatment, while legal proceedings against all arrested individuals have been initiated.
Authorities are continuing efforts to arrest more members and accomplices of this criminal organization.
