The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police has witnessed a sharp decrease in the incidents of crimes as compared to correspondent period of last year

Peshawar, December 20, 2018 (PPI-OT): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police has witnessed a sharp decrease in the incidents of crimes as compared to correspondent period of last year. According to the statistics significant decrease has been noted in the incidents of kidnapping for ransom this year as compared to last year. Seven incidents of kidnapping for ransom took place during the current year as compared to 20 in the year 2017. In crime against property 245 cases of robberies and 62 cases of extortion occurred during the current year as compared to 263 cases of robberies and 71 cases of extortion.

Likewise, in the report visible shortfall has also been noticed in assault on police. A total of 133 attacks on police happened during the current year as compared to 178 attacks of last year which are 45 less in number. Similarly downward trend in the attacks on other government officials also found place in the report. This year 36 incidents of such nature took place as compared to 37 attacks during the last year. Moreover, police action against vehicles snatchers also remained satisfactory.

In this regard this year a total of 178 cases were reported as compared to 184 cases of the last year. Similarly a total of 2299 murder cases were reported last year while in the current year 2284 murder cases took place which are 15 number less than previous year. The downward trend in the above mentioned categories of crimes depicts the best policing of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police which led to prevail peaceful and congenial atmosphere in the province.
