SHIKARPUR: A thief was killed in the firing of housemaster and thieves at village Muhammad Hayat Brohi in the limit of Rustam Police Station in the wee hours of Tuesday.
According to a report, a gang of thieves equiped with weapons entered the house of Yar Muhammad Brohi near Rustam town in a bid to steal the cattle. But the housemaster and others inmates awakened and offered resistance to the outlaws.
As a result of exchange of firings between them, a thief identified as Ghulam Hyder Dodani Jatoi died on the spot while rest of thieves escaped under the cover of firing and darkness.
Area police transported to Taluka Hospital Khanpur for Medico Legal formalities. The body was later handed over to his heirs. The housemaster left his home with entire family to somewhere safe place in fear of revenge of outlaws.
No FIR was registered till late evening.
