LARKANA:Three coronavirus patients died in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Chandka Medical College Hospital (CMCH), Larkana, on Sunday morning, Dr. Gulzar Ahmed Tunio, Incharge COVID-19 ICU told this scribe.
They were suffering from COVID-19 pandemic and were aged, he said. Two of them were brought from Jacobabad and belonged to Sarki and Karnani communities and third belonged to Soomro community of Larkana and was a retired banker, he added.
He said out of nine patients four had been cured and discharged, two yesterday and two today. He said five patients were still admitted to the ICU out of them two were women. He said condition of two patients was still critical. He claimed that all facilities were available in the ICU and the patients were being looked after properly.
Meanwhile, according to the figures circulated by Health Department, Government of Sindh, 658 COVID-19 positive cases have so far been detected in Larkana out of which 23 surfaced on Saturday, 362 have recovered, eight have expired and 288 are still active. All these cases are claimed to be of local transmission as the people have been ignoring compliance of approved SOPs after the easing of lockdown.
Whereas according to the figures submitted by the deputy commissioner’s office, 223 COVID-19 positive cases are remaining, 15 new cases were detected yesterday up to 30th May excluding positive in retest, 367 have been cured and discharged, nine have expired, five are in High Dependency Unit, none in ICU, 214 are in home isolation and four patients are being treated at Karachi. So far 2906 tests have been conducted.
