A trailer loaded with imported fabric worth 70 million rupees was successfully recovered by Khairpur police today after being hijacked while en route from Karachi to Lahore.
Inspector General Sindh Police, Javed Alam Odho, commended SSP Khairpur Amir Saud Magsi and his team for their exemplary performance in recovering the stolen goods. As a token of appreciation, they were awarded a bonus equivalent to their basic salary and credentials.
The hijacked vehicle and its cargo were located near Babarilo within a few days, credited to the prompt and effective action of the Sindh police. The operation utilized modern technology, intelligence work, and CCTV surveillance to trace the stolen items, which were later returned to the original owners.
The owners thanked the police force, particularly appreciating the efforts of IG Sindh, SSP Khairpur, and the broader Sindh police team for demonstrating dedication and professionalism.
Murad Soni, Chairman of Community Policing Karachi, praised the operation, stating that the successful recovery has strengthened the business community’s trust in the police. This sentiment was echoed by a delegation including Chairman of Gohar Group of Companies Muhammad Hanif Gohar, Salman Surti, and Raheel Fastani, who also met with IG Sindh. As a gesture of appreciation, Salman Surti awarded a cash prize to SSP Khairpur for his effective leadership.
IG Sindh Odho reiterated the police force’s commitment to the safety of the province’s highways and the maintenance of public order. He assured that all individuals involved in the hijacking would be apprehended and brought to justice, further strengthening public trust.
