Hundreds of tribesmen today staged a large demonstration along the Afghan frontier on Thursday, voicing explicit support for the Pakistan Army”s stance against the Afghan Taliban regime and regional terrorism.
The combined walk and vehicle rally took place in the border district of Qilla Abdullah and the adjacent Dobandi tehsil, an area in close proximity to Afghanistan. The event was led by the district”s Superintendent of Police, Athar Rashid.
Participants congregated in a large motorcade, waving national flags and displaying banners with messages of solidarity for the armed forces.
The demonstrators voiced chants including, ‘Long Live Pakistan,’ ‘Long Live the Pakistan Army,’ and ‘Pakistan Army, step forward, we are with you.’ Specific slogans were also raised in support of the military leadership, naming General Asim Munir.
