Lahore: Two policemen were arrested for allegedly attempting to rape a girl in Lahore on Sunday. According to victim girl Nazia Manzoor, two police constables named Irfan and Amir tried to molest her while she was on her way to home after performing her duty. A case has been registered against the two cops at the Defence police station.
As per First Information Report (FIR), the victim used to work in Al-Fatah Store in the Defence area of Lahore. On Sunday, she was going home along with her co-worker named Asif from after work, when they were stopped by the police constables on Service Road near Phase 8.
One of the constables tried to sexually assault the girl after taking her to an unknown place forcibly. The girl tried to resist but the constables continued to subject her to violence for putting up resistance. Moreover, the other constable Amir also took out 3,000 rupees from the pocket of fellow worker Asif.
However, both the policemen have been arrested under serious provisions including robbery and sexual assault. Two brothers die in Lorry Adda accident. According to Rescue officials, the deceased were identified as Usman and Zaman, both residents of Data Nagar, and reportedly were brothers. However, their dead bodies were shifted to a mortuary.
