Two farm workers were killed and a young girl was injured by a lightning strike in a field near Haveli Lakha in Okara district. The tragic incident occurred during heavy rainfall in the Chhara Manika area on July 14, 2025.
The victims have been identified as Asad and Muhammad Yar from Naimat Abad, while the condition of Inaam Bibi, daughter of Muhammad Yar, is said to be critical. The two men were working in a rice field when they were struck by lightning, killing them instantly.
Another person present at the scene, a young girl named Shinza, was also injured in the incident and was immediately taken to a nearby medical center for treatment.
This tragic incident has left the residents of Naimat Abad in mourning. Local residents are requesting the authorities to launch an awareness campaign regarding safety measures related to severe weather conditions in rural areas to prevent such incidents.
