Religious scholars from all schools of thought have resolved to foil the “nefarious designs” of the enemy by actively promoting peace and tolerance, and have pledged to stand with state institutions to protect national security.
This pledge was made during a high-level meeting in Jhang today where the district’s law and order situation and security arrangements were reviewed in detail. The visiting delegation of the Divisional Peace Committee was acting on the instructions of Faisalabad Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar.
The committee, led by Central Ulema Council Pakistan Chairman Maulana Zahid Mehmood Qasmi, met with members of the district-level peace committees, including Deputy Commissioner Ali Akbar Bhindar and District Police Officer (DPO) Sajid Hussain.
The Pakistan Ulema Council expressed its determination, stating, “Our existence is because of this country,” and emphasized that the unity of the Ummah is essential to defeat the enemy’s intentions.
The ulema were formally appealed to disseminate messages of peace, unity, and tolerance during Friday sermons and on the significant occasion of Youm-e-Ali.
Furthermore, directives were given to consistently use mosques and pulpits to preach harmony, brotherhood, and respect for the law among the public.
The religious leaders and peace committee members present at the meeting assured the district administration and local police of their full and unwavering support in maintaining law and order.
The meeting concluded with a special prayer for the high ranks of the martyrs of the Pakistan Army and for the stability and peace of the country.
